The Pre-Preparatory School was officially established as part of Rossall in 1947 since when it has flourished as a co-educational school, which aims to provide a sound education for boys and girls aged three to seven years of age.
Each child is taught individually, in small classes, in Reading, Mathematics and written English, with care and attention paid to the development of language in these areas of the curriculum from the earliest years.
A wide variety of subjects includes Art, Computer, Craft, French, Games, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, Recorder and Violin Playing, Religious Studies, Science and Swimming. Ballet, Piano and Speech and Drama classes are also available.
Emphasis is placed on a positive attitude to life in general and work in particular. Children are expected gradually to assume a certain amount of responsibility for themselves and the community in which they work i.e their school. Self-discipline is encouraged from an early age and pupils are made aware of how important it is for them to look after and care for one another.
We are lucky to be able to share and enjoy the facilities of a public school which are all around us -swimming pool, playing fields and gymnasium.
The great majority of pupils go on to Rossall Preparatory School from here.
A new purpose-built School opened on campus in September 1991.
Children can come from the age of 2 and stay in the Nursery until joining Reception in the year of their 5th birthday. There is a structured day in the Nursery and most parents choose certain sessions for their children. There is pressure on places at this end of the School. Children are all full-time from Reception upwards.
